Gluten Free Dining In Brentwood & Nashville, Tennessee

by Abby

gluten-free, local food

Anyone who lives with an allergy to wheat (aka gluten intolerance, Celiac Disease, etc) knows how difficult it is to enjoy eating out.

It is fairly simple to stay away from bread and pastas, but so many sauces, seasonings, and condiments contain wheat and it is nearly impossible to know what to order.

There are several major restaurants that have recognized this issue and are doing something to help.

Ok, so maybe they’re just trying to increase business, but they really are helping me!

You may already know about the increase in gluten free food that is available in a typical grocery store. In this area alone, I can find gluten-free foods in Wild Oats, Kroger, and Harris Teeter.

This is great, but I enjoy eating out and trying food that I wouldn’t make at home.

Great news is this: Outback Steakhouse, P.F. Changs, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and Sperry’s all offer a gluten free menu!

These are not only restaurants that you’ll find in the Cool Springs area, but they’re everywhere. Next time you’re out of town and looking for a place to eat, there is sure to be one of those 4  restaurants nearby.

More About Celiac Disease

If you live with someone who has a gluten intolerance (or have it yourself), there is helpful information available to you.

One of my favorite sites is Celiac.com. This website offers articles and information on Celiac Disease, links to sources of gluten free foods, message noards, lists of foods that are gluten free, and a calendar of events related to Celiac Disease.

For example, the Nashville Celiac Support Group posts upcoming meetings on this calendar.
