best-most-convenient-brentwood-tn-hotel-to-target-panera-interstate.jpg I’ve been looking for the best Brentwood hotel for our out-of-town visitors.

So far I’ve checked the business and suite hotels in Maryland Farms, the lovely but out-of-the-way Hilton Suites on Church St., and the easy-to-find Holiday Inn on Old Hickory Blvd.

My favorite Brentwood hotel is one I never spotted before:  The Best Western Steeplechase Inn on Franklin Pike Circle.

Here’s why…

LOCATION

and

SOUTHERN STYLE!

When I’m traveling, the last thing I want to do is drive to a restaurant for a quick bite to eat.  The Best Western Steeplechase Inn is tucked beneath I-65, directly behind some of Brentwood’s favorite restaurants!

You can easily walk to Panera Bread, a nice Waffle House, Cold Stone Creamery, Fulin Asian Cuisine, and Qdoba Fresh Mex.

A big new Target anchors the development, with LongHorn Steakhouse located across its parking lot.  Anything an out-of-town guest needs is right there.

Why Its Location Is Also Its Drawback:

This little hotel lies beneath I-65 and in front of a railroad track.  Though I didn’t notice any excessive noise, a light sleeper might prefer to stay in the Maryland Farms office area, which is dead quiet at night.

For the non-business traveler, I still think the Steeplechase Inn’s convenience outweighs the possible noise.  You can zip right on I-65 or get a bite to eat without getting stuck in rush hour traffic–and with Brentwood’s office commuters, that’s no small feat.

Why Steeplechase Inn Wins For Southern Style:

This hotel was built in the 1980’s as a local, non-corporate 48 room hotel.  There is a main building that looks more like a home, with separate buildings clustered around.

The Steeplechase name draws from Brentwood’s thoroughbred history and the nearby Steeplechase race course on Old Hickory Blvd.

The rooms I saw were clean and updated, with white coverlets, traditional beds and flat screen tv’s.  One suite even has its own fireplace.

You’ll want to compare room rates with the Brentwood Holiday Inn , which is also located on the far side of the same Target shopping center.

However, you’ll have to walk a long way to get to the restaurant strip.  I prefer the cozy size of the Steeplechase Inn, but the high-rise Holiday Inn would have many of the same pluses with less potential noise.
