I always read about the Lane Motor Museum as a fun place to go in Nashville.
(Dads get in free for Father's Day!)
I've put off going for ages, 'cause I'm not really interested in cars.
Can I just say how WRONG I was?!?
The Lane Motor Museum is now one of my top recommendations for Nashville tourists--and local dads, too.
Admission is SO reasonable!
$5 for adults, free for kids 18 and under.
Dads get in free every Father's Day.
Take another $2 off for AAA membership, military or senior discount.
You can find buy-one-get-one-free coupons for the Lane Motor Museum in the 2008 Entertainment Book.

Lane Motor Museum is near downtown, but a litle out of the way.
It's in the old Sunbeam Bread factory on Murfreeboro Rd.
Not one of Nashville's nicest areas, but the parking lot and picnic area were well-kept and seemed safe to us.
--->Here are directions to the Lane Motor Museum near downtown Nashville.
The Lane Motor Museum has an astoundingly quirky collection!
Many of the cars are European marvels with odd designs like 3 wheels or tiny proportions.
We loved the barrier-free (but no touch) exhibits.
The variety of cars--and their beauty--kept us all entertained.
When the kids began to lose interest, I took them to the big play area in the center of the room.
We loved the videos that showed some of the cars in action.
Can you imagine seeing a car like this driving through the streets of Brentwood?
We actually did! A cortege of mini cars drove down Franklin Rd. last month as part of the 5th annual Micro Car Drive.
Here's a cool video showing some of the Lane Motor Museum cars in action!
The Lane Motor Museum is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday--from 10 to 5 each day. Make sure to grab a fact sheet/map on your way in, and browse the collectible gift shop on your way out!
