Little-Known Facts About Brentwood, Tennessee

Brentwood has 7 parks and nature areas.

Total land area within the city of Brentwood is 41.23 square miles.

It’s more of a residential area than a touristy area, but there are still a number of fun things to do Brentwood, TN. Don’t miss the city’s ever-changing Calendar of Events.

Brentwood was the birthplace of John Markham — 2005 NFL player with the Pittsburgh Steelers (born April 27, 1979).

According to Wikipedia:

“Brentwood is the home of former NASCAR driver Casey Atwood, and several musicians, including hip-hop duo Dsx and country stars Trisha Yearwood, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Dolly Parton, George Jones, Little Jimmy Dickens, and Alan Jackson. Brentwood is also the former home of Peter Frampton. Brentwood is home to the International Headquarters of Sigma Pi Fraternity, International and Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity for Women.”

The city of Brentwood was incorporated in 1969.

On 12/24/1988, a category 4 (max. wind speeds 207-260 mph) tornado 2.4 miles away from the Brentwood city center killed one person and injured 7 people and caused between $5,000,000 and $50,000,000 in damages. Now, storm warnings are in place.

If you want to contact your state Senator or Representative, Brentwood is in House District 61 and Senate District 23.

Brentwood, Tennessee is 700 feet above sea level.
