Fundom Kids Is Fun Place For Kids
If you're looking for a fun place to take the kids near Nashville, head north to Fundom Kids. I popped on the interstate Monday to check out this family-friendly indoor play arena in Joelton.
Fundom Kids is a great place for play dates, playgroups, school field trips, and Friday night family fun!

First, I had to ask my husband, "Where exactly is Joelton?"
It's the far northern edge of Davidson County, just off I-24 between Clarksville and Nashville. It took us about 25 minutes from Brentwood.
Fundom Kids is situated in Joelton's old skating rink, behind the Days Inn at Exit 35. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect from this rural location. My friend has been raving about Fundom Kids since she moved nearby.
We had no sooner checked in than my 5-year-old was off and running to a water table with boats, locks, and waterwheels. Before he soaked his clothes, we quickly toured the rest of Fundom's huge play space.
Fundom Kids features a real indoor race track with top-of-the-line Kettler Kette cars. Just behind it is a riding area for smaller tots, with too many cool riding toys to list. I think I even saw an Oscar Meyer Weiner car!
The back corner has 2 inflatable bouncing structures. Just beyond was my son's favorite, a huge wooden castle with slides, tower, dragon swings and medieval costumes.
In fact, Fundom Kids has a miniature city of play areas -- a school, a workshop, a kitchen, a restaurant -- all kid size, with kid-friendly equipment.
My son played with a sand table while baby and I took a break in the designated nursing station. It's a wonder more family fun places don't include gliding rockers like Fundom!
Then the baby and I had a little exercise together in the soft play zone. The 5-year-old was absorbed in a nearby Geo Trax train set.
Before long, it was time to give the full-size air hockey table one last round (or 5). "Look, Mom, no quarters!" my son shouted in glee.
We really appreciated our trip to Fundom Kids. It's rare to find a play space that isn't commercialized, noisy, or full of electronic special effects. Moms in north Nashville, Cheatham county, or Clarksville have a real treasure nearby.

I took my children there yesterday with friends and they had a blast. I was super impressed with this place. We kept finding stuff to do after we thought we had found it all. This is a wonderful place and will be a blessing in the winter when the kids need to get out.
During June, all Tuesdays are half price days. The first five families on each Thursday receive tickets to see the Holly Hobbie Movie.
