Brentwood’s Melinda Doolittle impressed the American Idol judges beyond belief.
But will Melinda’s “Funny Valentine” also capture America’s heart?
In real life, Brentwood’s Melinda Doolittle is a background singer. Her experience shows. Just look at the raves from tonight’s American Idol judging panel:
Randy nodded for emphasis, “You made the mark. That was hot. Wow.”
Paula Abdul rose from the table in a standing ovation. She applauded Doolittle’s different phrasing of the classic lounge song, “My Funny Valentine.”
Simon again praised Doolittle’s humble attitude as “a breath of fresh air.” He called her performance “without question, the best vocal of the entire competition.”
NEWS FLASH! Melinda Doolittle survived the live viewer voting to make the next level of American Idol competition. The Top 8 Girls will perform next Wednesday night.
