cut-your-own-tree-farms-nashville.jpg No sooner had we bought our fresh fir from the Brentwood Christmas tree stand on Franklin Rd. (between Brentwood United Methodist Church and Fresh Market.)…

…than NPR ran an ad about finding local Tennessee tree farms.

What do you know? Several Christmas tree varieties are native to Tennessee, and choosing a local Christmas tree is good for the environment.

Here’s more information about local Christmas trees from the Pick TN Products website’s directory of TN tree farms:

Buying from a Tennessee tree farm means you get the freshest Christmas tree possible.

According to the NPR ad, these trees grow in rocky soil and prevent erosion.

Transportation costs–and use of fuel–are dramatically reduced when you buy local trees.

The Pick TN website mentions several different varieties of Christmas trees grown in Tennessee:

  • White Pine
  • Virginia Pine
  • Scotch Pine
  • Blue Spruce
  • Norway Spruce
  • Fraser Fir

Find out where to buy a local Tennessee Christmas tree from the Pick TN directory here.

Below, I’ve listed a few tree farms convenient to Nashville and Brentwood:

  • Diamond L Acres in College Grove (Williamson Co.)
  • Wreaths and Redbuds in Pleasant View
  • Country Cove Christmas Tree Farm in Murfreesboro
  • Tony’s Trees in Lebanon
  • Volunteer Tree Farm in Lebanon

(See the Pick TN directory for a complete listing of cut-your-own tree farms in Tennessee.)

Find out why I am such a loyal fan of local TN products and how I have used the Pick TN Products website in the last year!
