Review Of Qdoba In Brentwood, TN

qudoba-mexican-grill.jpgBy now, all of Brentwood is rooting for American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle — even the local Qdoba Mexican Grill (in the Shoppes of Brentwood Hills).

When my family stopped for a quick lunch, we noticed Qdoba’s American Idol viewing party.

Here’s our Qdoba review and information about the Melinda Doolittle fan party there.

First, How Do You Say Qdoba?

It seems like the Qdoba website would answer that question, but that would be too easy!

I searched the web before finding a Monster job ad from Qdoba’s parent corporation.

It advises applicants to pronounce Qdoba correctly. (Duh.)

“Hint: Cue-Do-Bah”

Okay, now that we’ve settled that question, let’s talk about the food!

How’s The Food At Qdoba?

I ordered the chicken taco salad. Pretty basic, but the chicken had a highly marinated, smoky flavor.

If only I could get my own grilled chicken so tasty!

The kids’ meal disappointed both parents and kid.

For $3, I expected more than a tiny drink, one thin taco and a pile of dry chips. (In comparison, the kids’ meals at competitor chain Moe’s have a meatier entree, chips with salsa and/or cheese, a cookie, and juice in a crayon shaped cup.)

qdoba-big-burrito.jpg My husband ordered some kind of monster burrito. He liked it, but noted that once you start eating it, you have to put your head down and keep eating until you finish. Otherwise, the odd square-shaped package will fall apart.

Watch American Idol At The Brentwood Qdoba

Sides like chips and salsa usually cost extra at Qdoba.

That is, unless you go to the Brentwood Qdoba on Tuesday or Wednesday nights for the Melinda Doolittle fan party. Televisions suspended from the ceiling will air American Idol both nights. From 7 to 9 pm, you can munch on free chips and salsa and sip a specially priced bottle of beer — all while cheering our favorite hometown finalist!
