These are some fun things to do that are just a short drive away from Brentwood…
Discovery Center at Murfree Spring (Murfreesboro) – the best children’s museum in Middle Tennessee! It’s definitely worth the drive to Murfreesboro with your kids.
Percy Warner Park (Nashville) – whether you drive, walk, or run through the park, it’s definitely worth passing through. You can also enjoy a picnic at one of the many picnic spots and play areas.
Monkey’s Treehouse (Bellevue) – a real tree house, a rubber mulch sandbox, an art center, a full-size play kitchen, a dress-up theater, various play stations, and a soft toddler area for the under-3 crowd.
The Zoo At Grassmere (Nashville) – with so much to see and do, kids of all ages will enjoy the Zoo. And the membership prices are so affordable, it paid for itself with our family of 5 after just two visits!
Traveller’s Rest (Nashville) – built in 1799, it’s one of the only colonial-style homes you can tour in Nashville. If you like Traditional Home and Country Living magazines, you will enjoy studying Travellers Rest’s style. It’s one of the few historic homes I could actually live in without redecorating!
Farmer’s Markets – there are 3 great ones near Brentwood to choose from (Franklin, Nashville, and East Nashville).
Percy Priest Lake (Nashville) – it’s the best swimming beach in the area. The Anderson Road Recreation Area is also worth a stop.
Gentry’s Farm (Franklin) – it’s an annual tradition for most families in middle Tennessee to visit Gentry’s during Halloween season, as well as a few other times of the year.
Nashville Shores (Nashville) – the perfect combination of slides, pools, and sandy beaches. Plus there’s all kinds of floating fun for families including cruises, kayaks, paddle boats, jet skis, and pontoon boats.
Beech Bend Park (Bowling Green, KY) – it’s the closest amusement park to Middle Tennessee. After our weekend trip, we think Beech Bend Park is definitely worth the hour-long drive from Brentwood!
Tennessee State Museum (Nashville) – it’s a free museum located at the bottom of TPAC in downtown Nashville. Its gift shop is full of attractive products, well above the average souvenir shop in terms of quality.
Adventure Science Center (Nashville) – The Adventure Science Center is the only childrens museum inside Nashville. They have lots of fun activities for the entire family year-round.
Green Hills Mall & More (Nashville) – Green Hills is the area of Nashville just northwest of Brentwood. There are plenty of kid-friendly places to visit, in addition to the mall and lots of fun restaurants.
