There have been several new “Mexican grill” restaurants that have opened up in northern Brentwood. Is this a new trend?
Maybe I just happened to notice, and these places have been in other areas all along.
There are 3 things that I take into consideration when I decide if I like a restaurant:
1. Location – is it easy for me to get there and is parking available?
2. Food – obviously, the food has to be good.
3. Environment – the decor should be interesting and comfortable.
With these 3 things in mind, my very favorite “Mexican grill” is The Chile Burrito Co. at 330 Franklin Road.
My understanding is that the original location is at 165 4th Ave N, in downtown Nashville. I haven’t been to the downtown location yet, but I’m sure it’s just as good.
The food is fresh and spicy — aka perfect.
The menu consists of build-your-own burritos, tacos, nachos, and salads.
The environment is inviting and the service is friendly.
And the food….I can’t say enough about it. You’ll really get your money’s worth here.
They have sidewalk seating, although I personally prefer eating inside. There is a TCBY frozen yogurt store a few steps away, so enjoy some dessert as well. Assuming you have room after eating a burrito the size of a football.
I’ve only been there during evening hours, and it’s not too crowded. I happened to drive by once on a weekday at noon, and the place was packed.
Good news is that lots of other people agree that this is a great place. Which, of course, is bad news is that if you’re there for lunch — because you may have a longer wait. Lucky for me, weekdays at lunchtime isn’t when I’d be there!
