One of Brentwood’s “best kept secret” parks is Tower Park.
It is across Concord Road from the River Park trailhead, and it's not nearly as busy as River Park and Crockett Park.
I spent an afternoon at Tower Park recently with my daughter and our bicycles. She is just learning the rules of riding on a greenway with so many other people so I was very happy to have a less crowded park to try out for that.
If your New Year’s resolution was to get in better shape, Brentwood is a great place to live.
We’re very fortunate to have such a fantastic park system to help us get some fresh air while exercising.

We finally investigated that tall, brick building on Moores Lane. It's the historic Boiling Springs Academy in Brentwood's Primm Park.
We were thrilled to go inside this historic landmark!
Here's a virtual tour of the 1832 schoolhouse after its recent restoration.
We stopped at Brentwood's Primm Park last week.
I wanted to show my brother the Boiling Springs Academy, circa 1833.
He snapped a photo of the "historic" Tennessee outhouse just behind it.

My five-year-old has been asking us to take him to Beech Bend Park and Splash Lagoon in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Turns out, Beech Bend is the closest amusement park to Middle Tennessee.
After our weekend trip, we think Beech Bend Park is worth the hour-long drive from Brentwood.
How did I let this news slip by me? There is a brand new park in Brentwood, Tennessee!

The weather is finally cooling down (a bit) and I'm anxious to get back outside. I decided to try the walking/jogging path at Granny White Park and it's not bad at all.
Granny White Park is located at 610 Granny White Pike.
Though technically not in Brentwood, Percy Warner Park -- and the adjoining Edwin Warner Park -- are both close enough to be frequented by a number of Brentwood residents and visitors on a daily basis.
I've ridden my bike through Percy Warner Park a few times, but mostly I just enjoy riding through the park in my car. One thing's for sure... I've been through this park dozens of times, and there hasn't been a time yet when I didn't spot at least one deer!
Here's a virtual auto tour through Percy Warner Park in Nashville, TN...
Deerwood Arboretum and Nature Area is a fun (and free!) place to spend a few hours taking in the scenery, enjoying a short hike, or to sit by the river for a picnic.
You can get to the park by turning into the Belle Rive Subdivision on Granny White Pike.
Stay on Belle Rive road until you see the signs for the park directing you to Deerwood Lane.
We're lucky living in Brentwood, TN because we have access to several parks with lots to do. In fact, Granny White Park on Granny White Pike has more recreation opportunities than you probably realize. We've all been to the park to play on the swings or to walk the dog, but have you ever considered going for a game of Bocce?
