The boundaries (as seen on this map of Brentwood, TN) are a little strange and somewhat unclear, so it’s easy to refer to something as being in Brentwood when it’s really not.

Farmer Jason makes living on a farm look downright fun!

I attended a Farmer Jason concert on March 27 with my 2 year old, Lucy.  It was held at the Belcourt Theater in downtown Nashville, TN, just off of 21st Avenue.

Let me tell you, it is fun no matter how old you are!  The show is simple in set up, but big on charisma and charm.

A Farmer Jason show is something no child (or parent!) should miss.

My family became members after our first visit because we had so much fun.  During the summer months in particular, there are few better places to take your children and I think that you will agree that the membership is worth the expense.

The biggest draw for us was the zoo membership pricing.  I have a family of 5 and our membership paid for itself after only 2 visits!

There is also a long list of reciprocal zoos, aquariums, and nature centers around the country that will allow you free admission (or deep discounts) into their facilities.  We’ve gone to many other facilities for free while on vacation, compliments of our Nashville Zoo membership.

You also receive a discount on all merchandise within Nashville Zoo and special events throughout the year.  And because you’re giving to a charitable cause, the fee is also tax deductible.

With that in mind, who could resist a Zoo membership?  But there are so many other reasons to join, I can’t stop there.

There are lots of great coupons for housewares, services, and restaurants galore!

For example, there are 4 Home Depot coupons for $5, $10, $15 or $20 off your purchase.

Planning a big electronic purchase? Get a $5, $10, or $25 Best Buy gift card instantly, depending on the amount you spend.

To me, the best part about the Smart Card is the sheer number of restaurants offering discounts. Practically every one you can think of within a 10-mile radius of Brentwood is included!

Consignment sales can be stressful.

• The advantage to consignment sales is the large amount of items to choose from.
• The disadvantage to consignment sales is the short time they are open (usually only 2 days twice a year), the large crowds, and the sense of urgency the shoppers feel to find that great deal before you do.

I’ve done them before, and there is a fair amount of work to do to prepare for one. In order to be eligible to attend the sale, you must sell items as well.

Kid to Kid is open all year and I don’t have to sell in order to buy there.

We went for a couple hours of fun at Pump It Up in Brentwood. I had heard about it from another mom I met at The Monkey’s Treehouse, another kids play place.

Pump It Up is a place where kids can bounce, climb, and slide on giant inflatables.

We went during Pre-K Open Play which is every weekday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for kids ages 2 to 6.

If you were not looking specifically for Pump It Up, you would never find it.

It’s the last building in a business park located off of Crossroads Blvd.

We have a small weekly schedule we follow already, but wanted to add something different to it.

After searching online for local things to do I found an article by Meredith here at The Fun Times Guide called Fun Things To Do With Kids In Cool Springs.

The Storytime at Barnes and Noble in Brentwood appealed to me. (And it’s free!) So I thought I would give it a try.
