Life in Brentwood, TN - What's it Really Like?

| Comments (0)

I often get emails from people who want information about Brentwood, Tennessee. Some are visiting and some are actually considering (or getting ready for) a move to our area. Brentwood is a small town, and even in the age of the internet it can be difficult to find information.

Gentry's Farm - Franklin, TN

Last fall I posted a recap of our visit to Gentry's Farm in Franklin, TN. Click here to see the post.

I was just thinking about visiting again this year, so I found that it opens again for the season on September 23, 2006.

This place is just too much fun. Take your kids and make an afternoon of it. I remember these types of places from my childhood, and I strongly suggest you create these kind of memories for your own family.

The weather is finally cooling down (a bit) and I'm anxious to get back outside. I decided to try the walking/jogging path at Granny White Park and it's not bad at all.

Trimming Bradford Pear Trees Part 2...They Were Right!

| Comments (13)

Before the start of this summer, I posted my concerns after our Bradford Pear trees were "trimmed".

Now that the summer is just about over, I have to admit I was way wrong.

This was the best thing we've done with the yard so far...

Trimming Bradford Pear Trees...This Can't Be Right, Can It?

Then the wind blew, and one of of the 4 little buggers fell in our neighbor's yard. The 3 remaining trees were overgrown, but I really didn't want to pull them out and start over.

Once the beautiful bloom of my Bradford Pear trees faded this past April, I realized how badly they needed to be trimmed. I called a landscaping company to do it, and they left me in shock...

Tornado Relief - Night Of Healing Concert

| Comments (0)

The tornadoes that went through Middle Tennessee earlier this month made for a scary Friday afternoon. Like most people, I was rushing to get home to make sure my dog was safe (My family was actually out of town at the time, so I knew they were safe). Once I saw the pictures of the horrible damage done further north in Sumner County, TN, I realized how lucky we really were that day.

Some of the Country Artists living here in the Nashville area are putting together a concert called "Night of Healing", to help those who need it the most.
