Nashville's Fall Festivals For Tennessee Vacations

| Comments (0)

handmade-basket-and-quilt.jpgYou don't have to travel to Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains for authentic Tennessee vacations!

This fall, Nashville offers plenty of fun festivals, handmade crafts, art and antiques.

We'll help you plan a fall getaway, whether you're vacationing "at home" in Brentwood or visiting Tennessee for a real vacation!

Independent festivals like TACA and Fall Fest can make your Tennessee vacations less touristy.

You'll find real crafts, not just souvenirs; real Tennesseans, not just tour guides.

The Belle Meade Mansion's Fall Fest is an upscale antique show on the grounds of one of Nashville's finest estates. Pricey, but full of Southern atmosphere, the Fall Fest admission includes complimentary tours of the mansion.

The 2007 Fall Fest is scheduled for September 15th and 16th. The Belle Meade Plantation's Fall Fest also features live music, craftspeople, and antique cars.

--->Local antique dealers know Fall Fest's best kept secret: a garage sale tent with some of the most amazing items donated to the sale by Belle Meade supporters.

Also on September 14th-16th is Nashville's African Street Festival on historic Jefferson St. This 3-day festival celebrates the African culture held at Tennessee State University.

--->If you visit this historically black neighborhood, don't miss Fisk University's campus down the street.

  • Fisk's Van Vechten Gallery displays one of the world's largest collections of Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keefe art.
  • The library's Aaron Douglas Gallery honors Fisk's famous muralist and its collection of African art.
  • TACA's fall craft fair highlights the best artisan crafts across the nation. We love to take visitors to this FREE event in Centennial Park each spring and fall. This year's TACA fall festival takes place on September 28 and 29th.
