The city of Brentwood does not have a leash-free dog park.

(UPDATE: There’s a new dog park in Brentwood – see details below!)

However, we have information on the Nashville and Franklin dog parks closest to Brentwood!

Dog Parks Closest To Brentwood, TN

In Brentwood, you can take your dog to any of Brentwood’s parks and greenways. Dogs must be leashed, and owners must scoop any poop.

NEW! Brentwood’s Nutro Dog Park (now in Thompson Station) is an off-leash dog park. Located in Tower Park, the dog park consists of 2 separately fenced areas: a large dog area (1.5 acres) for dogs over 25 pounds, and a small dog area (.65 acres) for dogs under 25 pounds. Both areas include shaded benches, water stations, and hydrants.

In Nashville, the Warner Dog Park is the one that’s closest to Brentwood. Vaughn’s Gap Road is just off Old Hickory Blvd. near the Steeplechase. You can see the open, sunny area from the road. Happy dogs and happy owners are always at Edwin Warner’s leash-free dog park, which is open from dawn to dusk. In fact, the entire Edwin Warner park is a favorite with dog owners, especially joggers on the trails.

Here’s a virtual driving tour of Warner Parks, which includes the Edwin Warner Dog Park.

In Franklin, Maggie’s Bark Park is located next to Franklin High School on Hillsboro Road. You’ll spot the large fenced area between the school and the Williamson County Animal Control center. The Franklin dog park was the first of its kind in Tennessee. It has gazebos, walking trails, and even play structures for agility training.

Other Middle Tennessee Dog Parks

Nashville’s showpiece Centennial Park boasts an equally great dog park. You will find the Centennial Dog Park just off West End at the corner of Parthenon Avenue and 31st. Dog owners love the separate areas for large and small dogs. A summer bonus: the Centennial Dog Park has water fountains just for dogs! It is open from dawn to 8 PM.

On Nashville’s East side, the Shelby Park Dog Park provides a lush green play area. Shelby Park is Nashville’s largest dog park, with almost 2 acres of leash-free space. You can find it on 20th Street, behind the Shelby Community Center. It is open from dawn until 8 pm.

Here’s more about Nashville’s dog parks.

Nearby, Murfreesboro also has a dedicated leash-free dog park. The Murfreesboro Bark Park is located just off College Street in a hard-to-spot commercial zone.

Dog Park Rules To Remember:

  • Two dogs per person, with a leash available for each dog.
