Of all the fun things to do with kids in Nashville, Super Saturdays at Ellington are some of the best. Your kids will love the living history activities at the Tennessee Agricultural Museum.
Did I mention that Super Saturdays are FREE?
The Tennessee Agricultural Museum itself is a great rainy day adventure.
But on Summer Saturdays, there are even more fun things to do! All activities take place between 9 and 2:
Here are the remaining Summer Saturday programs for 2007:
July 21 features Farm Chores and Summer Fun:
churn butter
scrub wash the old-fashioned way
try a push plow and a corn shuck broom
shell corn
watch bees
watch a spinning wheel in action
July 28 is Goat Day. This was my family's favorite:
feed goats
milk goats (yes, in a pail!)
storytelling of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff
try goats' milk products
August 4 is Wild Wings and Creeping Things:
meet a real entomologist
catch bugs with nets
identify bugs
get up close with large birds of prey
August 11 is Old Fashioned Horse Sense:
Mounted Police Patrol will demonstrate their horses at 10:00 and 11:30
snack on red apples
make apple crafts
