In real life, Brentwood's Melinda Doolittle is a background singer. Her experience shows. Just look at the raves from tonight's American Idol judging panel:
Randy nodded for emphasis, "You made the mark. That was hot. Wow."
Paula Abdul rose from the table in a standing ovation. She applauded Doolittle's different phrasing of the classic lounge song, "My Funny Valentine."
Simon again praised Doolittle's humble attitude as "a breath of fresh air." He called her performance "without question, the best vocal of the entire competition."

I have watched every American Idol episode this year and was so impressed with Melinda as an artist and person. When she walks out on stage, there is a radiance (Holiness) about her and she is truly a "Star". I feel like God has great things in store for her and that many doors will be open to her because of the stand she has taken. I would truly love to meet her one day, I feel Blessed to have been able to follow her accomplishments week after week. Maybe one day I can meet her or get to e-mail her in person. I will be keeping her in my prayers and following what she will be doing. May God Bless you Melinda, you are truly My American Idol!!!!!!!!!!!!!
